Rockets Aimed at Israel Defused in South Lebanon

Lebanese Army sappers on Thursday defused seven Katyousha rockets deployed in the southern Naqoura region prior to launching towards Israel, a reliable source said.
The source, speaking on condition of further anonymity, said the 107-mm projectiles were fitted with timing devices and defused "a short while before the time set for their launching".
He said the Katyoushas were "discovered" in the area between the border towns of Naqoura and Teir Harfa.
The region, which is within the area of operations of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Abuts Israel and overlooks most of the Central and Western Galilee.
It could not be immediately determined whether the projectiles were traditional World War II Katyoushas that have a range of 10-12 kilometers or a double-load Iranian-modified version better known by the code of RAAD that has a double range.
Hizbullah used Iranian-modified RAAD Katyoushas, each with a pay load of 100 kilograms of explosives, in its 2006 war with Israel, hitting as deep as the coastal town of Haifa.

15 years in prison + 1500 lashes!!!!

An Egyptian doctor Raouf Amin was sentenced to 15 years in prison and 1,500 lashes (70 lashes per week) in Saudi Arabia for malpractice. He was found guilty of driving a Saudi princess to addiction when he worked as the family’s personal doctor in Jeddah.
He was given his first 70 lashes last week and will get 70 more this week.

OMG it is not 50 or 100 or 200 but 1500 lashes ... What a horrible and cruel justice!

حرب الحمص والفلافل والتبولة بين لبنان واسرائيل

حرب جديدة بين لبنان واسرائيل، لكنها هذه المرة ليست سياسية أو جغرافية، بل تدور حول المطبخ اللبناني وتحديدا بعض الاطباق والسندويشات"! هذه خلاصة الموضوع الذي تناولته امس صحيفتا "هآرتس" الاسرائيلية و"غارديان" البريطانية تعليقا على تصريح لرئيس جمعية الصناعيين فادي عبود كشف فيه عن نيته رفع دعوى ضد اسرائيل مطالبا بحق ملكية طبق الفلافل!
والموضوع الذي اثار وسائل الاعلام العربية والاجنبية امس، يعود الى موقف عبود من لجوء اسرائيل الى تأكيد حق ملكيتها لعدد من الاصناف اللبنانية مثل الفلافل والتبولة والحمص، الامر الذي يكبد اللبنانيين خسائر بعشرات ملايين الدولارات سنويا. وقال عبود ان العمل جار حاليا من اجل دفع الحكومة اللبنانية الى تسجيل الملكية الفكرية لهذه الاصناف لدى الاتحاد الاوروبي بغية حفظ حق لبنان.

نرى في لبنان عالمين متناقضين : عالم يئن من الفقر والجوع ومن الغلاء وعالم آخر يعيش في ثراء فاحش ويشتري خط تلفون بمبالغ خيالية جداً!!

حاجز للشرطة المصرية يوقف حماراً بالجرم المشهود

سابقة مثيرة للضحك والإستغراب معاً حصلت في مصر اليوم، إذ لم تعد سجون القاهرة تستقطب "أبناء آدم" فقط ممن إرتكبوا الجرائم والذنوب، بل أصبحت أيضاً "للحمير" عقاباً على ذنوبها المقصودة أو غير المقصودة ربما! فقد ذكرت صحيفة "الأهرام" أنه تمّ إنزال حكم بالسجن 24 ساعة على حمار بعد ادانته بتهمة سرقة الذرة في احد حقول دلتا النيل.وقبض على الحمار متلبسا "بالجرم المشهود" وبحوزته نبتات من الذرة في حقل عائد لمركز الابحاث الزراعية في المنطقة. ولاحقاً أوقف الحمار وصاحبه عند حاجز للشرطة نُصب على الطريق بعدما رفع مدير المركز شكوى بالتعرض للسرقة.وحكم على صاحب الحمار بدفع غرامة قدرها 50 جنيه مصري أي ستة يورو... والآتي أغرب!

U.N. Polish Soldier decided to wear the hijab during the Holy Month of Ramadan!!

Polish Catholic soldier Sylvia Monika Wyszomirska, serving with United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon, is wearing a headscarf in order to make an effort to integrate into south Lebanon's conservative society during the holy month of Ramadan!!
It is a surprise and funny decision but at the same time it is out of the ordinary!!

A series of assassinations again in Lebanon!

Few minutes ago we had a breaking news informing the assassination of Mr. Saleh al-Aridi, a ranking official of Arslan’s Democratic Party, who was killed by a car bomb explosion in the town of Baisour in Mount, Lebanon. Other 4 people were wounded.
